Arsaphios 1 was a hypatos and basilikos spatharios; owner of a seal dateable between the mid eighth century and the mid ninth: Zacos and Veglery 1729. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου -λ. in the corners. Rev.: Αρσα - .ιω υπα - . β' σπαθ - αριω. The name and titles read: Ἀρσαφίῳ ὑπάτῳ καὶ βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ.
