Arsaber 17 was a patrikios, basilikos protospatharios and komes of the Opsikion; owner of two identical seals dateable to the ninth century: DOSeals III 39.23a and 39.23b = Zacos and Veglery 1733a and 1733b. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: +Αρσαβ - ηρ πατρικ' β' - α' σπαθ' και κομ' - του Οψικ'. The name and titles read: Ἀρσαβὴρ πατρικίῳ, βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ καὶ κόμητι τοῦ Ὀψικίου. His name indicates an Armenian origin.
