Antonios 40 was archbishop of Kyzikos; he is named in a letter written by pope Nicolas I (Nikolaos 28) to the emperor Michael III (Michael 11) as one of the supporters of the patriarch Ignatios (Ignatios 1): Nicolaus I, Ep. 86 (PL 119. 956B).
