Antonios 33 was archbishop of Bosporos; he was the addressee of a letter from the patriarch Photius (Photios 1) written between 859 and September 867; he is encouraged by Photios 1 in his efforts to convert the Jews living in his area: Photius, Ep. 97 (I 132 Laourdas-Westrerink) (addressed Ἀντωνίῳ ἀρχιεπισκόπῳ Βοσφόρου). It is likely that by the Jews Photios 1 was referring to the Khazars.
