Antonios 28 was a monk; he asked Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite) to fulfil a promise and write to the hegoumene and nuns of the Gordina monastery, and is mentioned in the letter which Theodoros 15 then wrote, between 821 and 826, addressed to the hegoumene (Anonyma 95); he is referred to as ὁ ἀγαπητὸς ἡμῶν ἀδελφὸς Ἀντώνιος (p. 170, line 2); Theod. Stud., Ep. 59, pp. 170-171 (on the date, see Fatouros, pp. 203*ff.).
