Antonios 18 was a monk and a native of Crete; he was one of the iconophile monks held in the praitorion at Constantinople with Stephen the Younger (Stephanos 2), probably in 764; he told his fellow-prisoners the story of the martyrdom of the monk Paulos 50 at Herakleion in Crete by Theophanes 20: Vita Steph. Iun. 160, 10-29 (1164B-D) (Ἀντώνιος τῆς Κρητῶν νήσου).
