Anthinos 1 was a goatherd living probably at the village of Hellespontos in the district of Pandemos in Bithynia; there for three years (?c. 796/799) he fed the hermit Ioannikios 2 (St Ioannikios), taking him bread and water once a month: Sabas, Vita Ioannicii 10 (Ioannikios 2 was fed\n παρ' ἑνός τινος αἰπόλου Ἀνθινοῦ καλουμένου). This is not recorded in the other Life of Ioannikios 2, by Petros 126.
