Anthimos 11 was a basilikos protospatharios; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth century: Schlumberger, Sig., p. 590, no. 1 (facsimile). Obv.: invocative monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει with the legend τῷ σῷ δούλῳ. Rev.: +Ἀνθη[μ( ωι)] - βα(σιλικῷ) προτω - σπαθαρι - +ῳ+. This seal was acquired by Schlumberger from Rome and he accordingly identified the owner with Anthimos 17 (the envoy of Constantine V (Konstantinos 7) to Pepin 1, recorded in 765).
