Anthimos 2 was hypatos, basilikos asekretis, genikos kommerkiarios and archon of the Blattion; owner of a seal dateable to the late eighth century (between 780 and 797, see below): Zacos and Veglery 275 = Laurent, Corpus II, no. 658 = Oikonomides, Dated Seals, p. 52, no. 42. Obv.: busts of the emperor Constantine VI (Konstantinos 8) and his mother Eirene 1. Rev.: busts of three recent emperors, Constantine V (Konstantinos 7), Leo III (Leo 3) and Leo IV (Leo 4), with the legend .νθιμω υπ' β' ας - ..ρ' γενικ' κομ - .ερκ' και αρχ' τ - ..α..... The name and titles read: []νθίμῳ ὑπάτῳ βασιλικῷ ἀσ[ηκ]ρῆτις γενικῷ κομ[μ]ερκιαρίῳ καὶ ἄρχοντι τοῦ [βλ]α[ττίου]. For the date, between 780 and 797, see Oikonomides, op. cit., p. 52.
