Anonymus 753 was a monk from the monastery to which Ignatius the Deacon (Ignatios 9) was sent after removal from his see; he was anxious to obtain a bishopric and visited the metropolitan bishop of Nikomedeia, Ignatios 6, with a letter from Ignatios 9: Ignatius Diac., Ep. 49 (Ὁ τὸ γράμμα κομίζων μοναχός, εἷς ὢν τῶν ἐν τῇ μονῇ ταύτῃ προλαμπόντων).
