Anonymus 746 was oikonomos of the church of which Ignatios 9 was bishop (i.e. Nikaia); he was guilty of dereliction of duty in matters connected with payments demanded from the church by the State and had left, apparently to answer a summons from Gregorios 158, but his return to fulfil his duties and salvage the affairs of the church was requested by Ignatios 9 in a letter to Gregorios 158: Ignatius Diac., Ep. 2. He had been despatched to Gregorios 158 in connection with the affair: Ignatius Diac., Ep. 3.
