Anonymus 691 was a spatharios (probably protospatharios) and strategos of Paphlagonia; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth or ninth century: Laurent, Orghidan 224. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει with .. - .. - δου - λ. in the corners. Rev.: ..σπαθ - ..ρατ' Πα - φλαγ'. The titles read: σπαθαρίῳ (or possibly πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ) καὶ στρατηγῷ Παφλαγονίας.
