Anonymus 688 was a basilikos kandidatos and archon of Chios; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: Laurent, Orghidan 204. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: Μ.. - γ' βας κα - δδι και αρχο - τ' Χειου. The owner's titles read: βασιλικῷ κανδιδάτῳ καὶ ἄρχοντι Χείου. The name of the owner is uncertain.
