Anonymus 683 was the brother of the Stoudite monk Kledonios 1; he was a layman; in c. 817 he tried to persuade his brother to abandon the life of a monk, and was opposed by Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite) in a letter to Kledonios 1: Theod. Stud., Ep. 263.
