Anonymus 673 was either the strategos or the deputy of the strategos (ὁ στρατηγὸς, ἤγουν ὁ τοποτηρητὴς τοῦ στρατηγοῦ) at Selymbria when Maximus the Confessor (Maximos 10) was held there (in late 656); Anonymus 673 ordered the commanders of the banda, the standard bearers and priests and clergy to visit Maximos 10 after allegations were made that Maximos 10 held views which were disparaging to the Theotokos: Acta Primi Exilii 168C.
