Anonymus 648 was a basilikos spatharios and tourmarches of the Kibyrrhaiotai; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth or ninth century: DOSeals II 59.33 = Zacos and Veglery 2523. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Κύριε βοήθει, with .ω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: .ς - ιω β' σπα - .τουρμ' τ' - Κιβυρ'. The name and titles perhaps read: ...σίῳ β[ασιλικῷ] σπα[θαρίῳ καὶ] τουρμ[άρχῃ] τ[ῶν] Κιβυρ[ραιωτῶν]. Traces survive of the initial letter of the name but it is not certain what it was; possibly a sigma, epsilon or theta. Zacos and Veglery read the name as Theophilos, but the editors of DOSeals II disagree.
