Anonymus 565 was apparently a eunuch and bishop of Kyzikos in 846 (see text cited below); he is included in a list of persons whom Ioannikios 2 (Saint Ioannikios) warned the then patriarch of Constantinople Methodios 1 to avoid; the list includes the Stoudites generally, their associate Ioannes 240, Ignatios 6 and this person: Petrus, Vita Ioannicii 70 (καὶ τοῦ ἀλογωτάτου εὐνούχου τῆς Κυζικηνῶν ἐκκλησίας; the reading of the word εὐνούχου is apparently doubtful, but the individual seems probably to have been the current bishop of Kyzikos). The conversation between Ioannikios 2 and Methodios 1 took place on 1 November 846; see Ioannikios 2. The list appears to include persons closely associated with the Stoudite monks, who were to blame for divisions in the church under Methodios 1. Cf. also Ioannes 529.
