Anonymus 553 was a patrikios, basilikos protospatharios and strategos of Sicily; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth or ninth century: Borsari, no. 13. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: .... - πατρικ' - β' α' σπα' - .. .τρατ' Σ. - κελι'. The name is lost; the owner's titles read: πατρικ[ίῳ], βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπα[θαρίῳ καὶ σ]τρατ[ηγῷ] Σικελίας.
