Anonymus 501 was a basilikos spatharokandidatos and ek prosopou of the Kibyrrhaiotai; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century; some letters of his name survive, which the editors of DOSeals suggest could be read as Leontios: DOSeals II 59.4 = Zacos and Veglery 2668. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: ..εων - .ιω β' σπα' - ανδ' και εκ - .οσ' τ' Κ - υρεο. The name and titles may read: [Λ]εων[τ]ίῳ βασιλικῷ σπαθαροκανδιδάτῳ καὶ ἐκ προσώπου τῶν Κιβυρραιώτων. Cf. Zacos and Veglery 3229 (Anonymus 541).
