Anonymus 493 was a basilikos spatharios and doux of Calabria; owner of a seal dateable between the mid eighth century and the mid ninth; his name is lost: Zacos and Veglery 2649A. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with .. - .. - δου - .. in the corners. Rev.: ..... - ... β' σπ -. ..ουκι Κ - ..αβρισ'. The titles read: ... βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ καὶ δουκὶ Καλαβρίας.
