Anonymus 439 was a basilikos spatharios and komes; owner of a seal dateable to the first half of the eighth century; his name was in the form of a monogram, of which the upper part is lost; the surviving letters are π, α, ν and ω; his name was possibly Platon, Pankratios or Epiphanios (see below): Zacos and Veglery 1678A. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει ....π, α, ν, ω. Rev.: βασιλι - κω σπαθα - ριω και κο - μητη. The name could be e.g. Πλάτωνι or Παγκρατίῳ or Ἐπιφανίῳ. The titles read: ... βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ καὶ κόμητι.
