Anonymus 383 was a basilikos spatharokandidatos and topoteretes; owner of a seal of uncertain date, possibly ninth or tenth century; the surviving letters of the owner's name, .οροθ., suggest "Dorotheos", though if this was his name the first surviving letter should be ω, not ο (Δωροθέῳ): Konstantopoulos, JIAN 6, 228. The name and titles read: .οροθ. βασιλικῷ σπα[θ]αροκανδιδάτο τοπο[τηρ]ιτ[ῇ] το ν...; the last letters may be part of a title or may represent the owner's family name.
