Anonymus 382 was a monk and archdeacon under his uncle, bishop Nikolaos (Nikolaos 29) in Bulgaria (...[μο] - ναχος και αρχη - διακονος επις - κοπου Νηκωλαου - ω και θιου αυτου) when he died; he was buried in Bulgaria on 5 October 870 (year of the world 6379, indiction 4, October 5) during the reign of Michael (i.e. Boris 1): Beshevliev, Spätgr. u. spätlat. Inschr. Bulg., no. 51 (= Kalinka, Antike Denkmäler, p. 289, no. 367 = Grégoire, Byz. 45 (1939), pp. 227-234 and 693ff. = Beshevliev, Die protobulg. Inschr., p. 327, no. 87) at Cherven, district of Ruse (Bulgaria). The beginning of the inscription, with his name, is lost.
