Anonymus 307 was an monk at Thessalonike charged with the care of the poor (ἀδελφός τις διακονεῖν τοῖς πένησιν ἐπιτηδείως ἔχων); given three pigs to give to the poor, he kept a portion back for himself; Gregory the Decapolite (Gregorios 79) somehow knew of this and warned Anonymus 307 that his prayers would be unanswered until he gave up the missing portion; he then repented and restored it to the poor: Ignatius, Vita Greg. Dec. 14. The date was probably between c. 834 and c. 841; cf. Gregorios 79.
