Anonymus 295 was a monk who travelled from Thessalonike to Rome via Corinth; he was accompanied as far as Corinth by Gregory the Decapolite (Gregorios 79), who could not afford to travel on his own account and therefore acted as the monk's servant (ἦν αὐτῷ διὰ τὴν ἀπορίαν ὑποτασσόμενος καὶ δούλου χρείαν πληρῶν), living at his expense: Ignatius, Vita Greg. Dec. 11.
