Anonymus 288 was the unnamed head of the Church of the Martyr Menas at Thessalonike (τοῦ τηνικαῦτα τὴν ἐκκλησίαν διέποντος) (presumably a priest); he received Gregory the Decapolite (Gregorios 79) when Gregorios 79 arrived in Thessalonike and took up residence close to his church: Ignatius, Vita Greg. Dec. 14.
