A boy (παῖς) of eight or nine years, Anonymus 279 was deaf and dumb and paralysed (οὐ μόνον ἄναυδος πάντη καὶ ἀνήκοος, ἀλλὰ δὴ καὶ ἀκίνητος ὁλοτελῶς γεγονὼς); his family took him to the tomb of the late patriarch Ignatios 1, where after four days he stood up, opened the door of the church himself and walked outside talking to the people around and listening to them and praising God and the saint: Nicetas, Vita Ignatii 560D-561A. Ignatios 1 died in 877.
