Anonymus 272 was a native of Kydonia in Crete and husband of Anonyma 41; they are described as famous for their piety (δι' εὐσέβειαν); he was the father of Nikolaos 26 and other children: Vita Nic. Stud. 868C-869A. Father also of Titos 1: Vita Nic. Stud. 876B. Anonymus 272 was brother of Theophanes 21, a monk in the Stoudite monastery in Constantinople, to whom they sent Nikolaos 26 when he was ten years old (in 803): Vita Nic. Stud. 869B. Later they were taken captive during an Arab attack on Crete: Vita Nic. Stud. 876B (see Titos 1).
