Anonymus 263 was the praefectus urbi at Rome in 772; persons involved in the murder of Sergios 53 were handed over to him by pope Hadrian I (Hadrianos 1) to stand trial publicly; they were held in the Elephant prison, where the trial took place: Lib. Pont. 97. 13 ( praefecto urbis ).
