Anonymus 221 was a man of learning who lived on the island of Andros; he there taught Leo the Philosopher (Leo 19) the first principles of rhetoric, philosophy and arithmetic: Theoph. Cont. IV 29 (p. 192) (τινι σοφῷ ἀνδρί).
