Anonymus 189 was a synkletikos with whom Thomas the Slav (Thomas 7) supposedly found employment in Constantinople early in his career; after Thomas 7 and the man's wife were discovered to be lovers, Thomas 7 allegedly fled to the Arabs: Theoph. Cont. II 10 (p. 51) (τινι τῶν συγκλητικῶν).
