Anonymus 157 was a patrikios, basilikos kandidatos and strategos of the Boukellarioi; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth or ninth century (under the iconoclast emperors): Schlumberger, Sig., p. 301, no. 2. The name of the owner ended with the letters ιος or νος. The text given by Schlumberger reads:- Obv.: cruciform monogram of Κύριε βοήθει with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: .....ηω (or νω) πατρικίῳ β[ασιλικῷ] κανδ[ιδάτῳ] καὶ στρατηγῷ τῶν Βουκελλαρήων.
