Anonymus 156 was a kandidatos and tourmarches of Amastris; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: Schlumberger, Sig., pp. 299-300 (facsimile). Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: .... - ω κανδ - .. και τρομα - .χο Αμασ' τ. - τη.αδ.... The name and titles appear to read: ...ῳ κανδιδάτῳ καὶ τρομάρχῃ Αμάστρας τ.τη.αδ.... The meaning of the last letters is not clear.
