Anonymus 64 was the unnamed bishop of Apollonias (in Bithynia); encountering him while on his way back to Saint Porphyrios, Peter of Atroa (Petros 34) took avoiding action and miraculously escaped being seen by him: Vita Petr. Atr. 66, p. 195 (the encounter occurred near the lake of Apollonias and the bishop is described as ὁ ἐπίσκοπος τοῦ αὐτοῦ τόπου). The event was in the reign of Theophilos 5, when the iconoclast heresy still prevailed (ἔτι τῆς αἱρέσεως κατακρατούσης), and Petros 34's motive was presumably to avoid meeting an iconoclast bishop. The date was presumably after the persecution resumed (in 832/833) and before Petros 34 died (in 837).
