Anonymus 35 is described as "vir clarissimus, imperialis mandator" (Mansi XII 1052); recorded at the second session of the Second Council of Nikaia (the Seventh Ecumenical Council), on 26 September 787; he was sent by the emperor and empress (Konstantinos 8 and Eirene 1) to deliver to the Council the bishop of Neokaisareia, Gregorios 38: Mansi XII 1051 (ὁ λαμπρότατος βασιλικὸς μανδάτωρ; his name is not recorded; when he was announced, he was referred to as a βασιλικὸς ἄνθρωπος).
