Anonymus 34 was an archon of the chrysocheion under the emperor Theophilos 5; he was a relative of the patriarch Antonios 3 and was very learned (λογιωτάτου πάνυ); he helped the emperor Theophilos 5 to create various splendid objects, the so-called Pentapyrgion and two golden organs studied with precious stones and crystals and a golden tree with golden birds that made mechanical music: Leo Gramm. 215 (ἄρχοντος τοῦ χρυσοχείου), Georg. Mon. Cont. 793 (ἄρχοντος τοῦ Χρυσοχόου). For his post, perhaps the same as the chrysoepsetes, cf. Oikonomides, Listes, p. 317.
