Anonymus 13 was the son of the emperor Theodosios III (Theodosios 2); in 716 he was captured near Nicomedia with all his retinue by Leo 3; subsequently his father Theodosios III (Theodosios 2) abdicated the throne in Leo 3's favour; both father and son then were tonsured and Anonymus 13 spent the remainder of his life in peace as a monk: Theoph. AM 6208, Zon. XIV 28. 3-4 (ὁ Θεοδόσιος δὲ ἀπραγμόνως τῆς βασιλείας ἐξέστη αὐτῷ εἰς κληρικὸν καρεὶς μετὰ τοῦ υἱοῦ), Chron. 1234 §158 (p. 303).

Anonymus 13 s father (Theodosios 2) was son of the emperor Tiberios III (Tiberios 2) (Theoph. AM 6245) and Anonymus113 was therefore the grandson of Tiberios III (Tiberios 2) as well as son of Theodosios III (Theodosios 2).
