Textual SourcesVita Stephani Iunioris, by Stephanus Diaconus (BHG 1666), ed. M.-F. Auzépy, La Vie d'Etienne le Jeune par Étienne le diacre. Introduction, édition et traduction (Aldershot, 1997); PG 100. 1069-1186 (hagiography)

Anonyma 27 was the head of the monastery for women on Mt Auxentius; she was entrusted by Stephen the Younger (Stephanos 2) with the spiritual care of Anna 6: Vita Steph. Iun. 116, 29-31 (1108A) (τῇ ἱερᾷ καὶ ὁσίᾳ τῆς μονῆς προεστώσῃ μητρί). An elderly lady who was head of the monastery (ἡ τιμία γραῦς καὶ τῆς μονῆς προεστῶσα) when Anna 6 was summoned to answer charges by the emperor Constantine V (Konstantinos 7), Anonyma 27 gave her her blessing and sent her to the emperor with a fellow nun Theophano 3 as companion: Vita Steph. Iun. 133, 17-28 (PG. 100. 1128D-1129A). The date was perhaps 754 or 755, not long after the Council of Hieria. Possibly identical with Anonyma 35.
