Andreas 44 was basilikos kommerkiarios and paraphylax of Abydos; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: DOSeals III 40.20 = Zacos and Veglery 1711. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Κύριε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: Ανδρ - εα β' κομε - ρκ' και παρα - φ' Αβυδ. The name and titles read: Ἀνδρέᾳ βασιλικῷ κομερκιαρίῳ καὶ παραφύλακι Ἀβύδου.
