Andreas 17 was hetairiarches, under Michael III (Michael 11); the future emperor Basil I (Basilios 7) was put under his command by Michael 11, to work with the imperial horses: Leo Gramm. 230 (τῷ Ἀνδρέᾳ ἑταιριάρχῃ τοῦ εἶναι εἰς τὴν ἑταιρίαν καὶ δουλεύειν ἐν τοῖς ἵπποις αὐτοῦ), Georg.
