Andreas 12 was bishop of Bosporos in the Tauric Chersonese; his deacon David 2 subscribed on his behalf the statement of the faith condemning monotheletism, which was agreed at the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council) in 681; he is not attested as present at any of the eighteen sessions of the Council, nor is David 2; their signature appears among a group of nine which end the list of subscriptions: Riedinger II 2. 796, line 21 (= Mansi XI 653) (τὸν τόπον ἐπέχων Ἀνδρέου τοῦ ὁσιωτάτου ἐπισκόπου). The old Latin version printed in Riedinger reads: "locum exhibens Andreae uenerabilis episcopi mei": Riedinger II 2. 797. David 2 was deacon of the Church of Bosporos.
