Anastaso 1 was the wife of Myritzikos 1 and mother of St Ioannikios (Ioannikios 2); the family lived in the village of Marykaton north of Lake Apollonias in Bithynia: Sabas, Vita Ioannicii 2, Petrus, Vita Ioannicii 4. The birth of Ioannikios 2 was during the reign of Constantine V (Konstantinos 7), allegedly in the emperor's fourteenth regnal year (in c. 752/754). They were iconoclasts: Sabas, Vita Ioannicii 2. They probably abandoned iconoclasm at the same time as Ioannikios 2 (c. 787) and were still alive in c. 794, when Ioannikios 2 went to become a hermit with their blessing: Sabas, Vita Ioannicii 4, 5, 7.
