Once a stylite, later a recluse (ἔγκλειστος), Amphilochios 2 was still alive when Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite) mentioned him in one of his sermons; Amphilochios 2 was apparently mentally confused and given to wandering around indecently clothed: Theod. Stud., Catech. Parva 38 (p. 140 Auvray). The sermon was delivered between 815 and 826.
