Amadeus 1 was bishop of Pinna ("Amadeus, episcopus ecclesiae Pinnensis"); in 844 he was one of the Italian bishops who attended the Council called at Rome by Drogo 1; they were not summoned by their metropolitans but came with criticisms of pope Sergius II (Sergios 60): Lib. Pont. 104. 14.
