Alexandros 2 was bishop of Kotrada in Isauria; in 681 he attended the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council) and was present at two of the last three sessions (sessions sixteen and eighteen, on 9 August and 16 September): Riedinger, pp. 686-825 (= Mansi XI 613-674). In the subscriptions to the statement of the faith, which condemned monotheletism, and to the Council, he is styled Ἀλέξανδρος ἐλέει Θεοῦ ἐπίσκοπος Κοτράδων Ἰσαύρων (so 825; 786 reads: ἐπίσκοπος Κοτράδων): Riedinger, p. 786, line 9, p. 825, line 5, cf. p. 894, line 3 (= Mansi XI 645, 673, cf. 693). The old Latin version printed in Riedinger, p. 787, line 9 (= Mansi XI 646) calls his see "Cotradae Hisauriae regionis". In the lists of those present at each session he is styled Ἀλεξάνδρου ἐπισκόπου Κοτράδων (758 adds: τῆς Ἰσαύρων χώρας): Riedinger, p. 686, line 28, p. 758, line 2 (= Mansi XI 613, 628). He was among the signatories to the copy of the definition of the faith sent to the bishop of Rome, Agatho 1: Riedinger, p. 894, line 3 (= Mansi XI 693).
