In AH 44 (April 664-March 665) `Abd al-Rahman b. al-Walid (Abd ar-Rahman 5) led a Muslim invasion of Byzantine territory: Tabari XVIII, p. 71. This man is identical with Abd ar-Rahman 9, i.e. `Abd al-Rahman b. Khalid b. al-Walid, the name of his father having been lost from the text.
