Sissinios 5 was bishop of Hierapolis in Phrygia Pacatiana; he attended the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council) in 680 and 681 and was present at all eighteen sessions: Riedinger, pp. 16-824 (= Mansi XI 209-672). In the subscriptions to the statement of the faith, which condemned monotheletism, and to the Council he is styled Σισίνιος ἐλέει Θεοῦ ἐπίσκοπος τῆς Ἱεραπολιτῶν μητροπόλεως τῆς Φρυγῶν Πακατιανῶν ἐπαρχίας: Riedinger, p. 784, lines 7-8, p. 824, lines 22-23 (= Mansi XI 644, 672) (the old Latin\n translation printed in Riedinger calls his see "Hierapoleos metropoleos Phrigiae Pacatianae": Riedinger, p. 785, line 7 (= Mansi XI 643)) , cf. Riedinger, p. 893, lines 12-13 (= Mansi XI 692). In the\n lists of those present at each session he is styled Σισινίου ἐπισκόπου Ἱεραπόλεως Φρυγίας: Riedinger, p. 16, line 28, p. 28, line 32, etc. (= Mansi XI 209, 220, etc.). At the eighth session (7 March 681) he declared his acceptance of the doctrine of Two Wills and Two Energies as set out in documents from pope Agathon (Agatho 1) and the Roman Council: Riedinger, p. 198, lines 20-26 (= Mansi XI 337). He\n was among the signatories to the copy of the definition of the faith sent to the bishop of Rome, Agatho 1, signing on behalf of himself and the bishops under him: Riedinger, p. 893, lines 12-13 (= Mansi XI 692) (ὑπὲρ ἐμαυτοῦ καὶ τῆς ὑπ'ἐμὲ συνόδου). His name is included in the list printed in Riedinger, p. 734, lines 16-17 (= Mansi\n XI 696) (Σισίννιος ἐλέει Θεοῦ ἐπίσκοπος τῆς Ἱεραπολιτῶν μητροπόλεως τῆς Φρυγῶν Πακατιανῶν).
