Bishop of Polemonion in Pontus Polemoniacus; in 681 he attended the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council) and was present at two of the last three sessions (sessions sixteen and eighteen, on 9 August and 16 September): Riedinger, pp. 690-827 (= Mansi XI 616-676). In the subscriptions to the statement of the faith, which condemned monotheletism, and to the Council he is styled Ἀναστάσιος ἐλέει Θεοῦ ἐπίσκοπος πόλεως τοῦ Πολεμωνίου): Riedinger, p. 792, line 23, p. 827, line 1 (= Mansi XI 652, 676), and cf. Riedinger, p. 744, line 13 (Anastasius misericordia Dei episcopus civitatis Polemonii). In the lists of those attending each session he is styled Ἀναστασίου ἐπισκόπου τοῦ Πολημωνίου or similar: Riedinger, p. 690, line 31, p. 762, line 8 (= Mansi XI 616, 629).
